After installing Windows 7 you might need to download the most recent Windows 7 drivers for certain hardware on your computer.

Windows 7 is Microsoft’s most widely used operating system. Therefore, most manufacturers release Windows 7 driver upgrades for their products. You can keep your computer running at its best by updating to the most recent Windows 7 drivers.

Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows 7 as of January 2020. To continue receiving technical support and security updates, we recommend upgrading Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Drivers for Acer (Desktops & Notebooks)

Windows 7 drivers for Acer notebooks and desktops can be downloaded from the Acer Service and Support website, linked above.

Acer offers many Windows 7 drivers that can be customized for laptops and PCs, but most hardware will be installed using Windows 7 default drivers.

AMD/ATI Radeon Driver (Video)

The AMD Adrenalin 21.5.2 suite (released 2021-05-17) is the latest and most likely final AMD/ATI Radeon Windows 7 driver.

This Windows 7 driver by AMD/ATI includes the entire Catalyst suite, including the ATI Radeon display drivers and the Catalyst Control Center. This Windows 7 driver works with all AMD/ATI Radeon HD Series GPUs, including the R9 and newer HD series chips.

There are 32 and 64-bit versions available for this Windows 7 driver, so make sure you choose the right one.

ASUS Drivers

ASUS Windows 7 drivers are available via ASUS’s support website, linked above.

ASUS made Windows 7 drivers available for many of its motherboard line, including those that are based on AMD, Intel Socket 775 and 1155, 1156, 1366 and 2011.

I checked several ASUS motherboards for both 32-bit as well 64-bit Windows 7 drivers.

ASUS also makes workstations, servers, notebooks and other peripherals but their most well-known product is the motherboards. On their website, you can find Windows 7 drivers for any ASUS non-motherboard product.

ASUS maintains a list of Windows 7 Compatible ASUS Motherboards.

BIOSTAR Drivers for Motherboards

BIOSTAR Windows 7 drivers can be downloaded from the BIOSTAR download page linked above.

BIOSTAR lists many motherboard lines that have passed WHQL testing with Microsoft. This includes those based on Intel 1155 and 1366, 1156 and 775 and 478 and AMD AM3+ and FM1, AM3, AM3, and AM2+ designs.

Although many BIOSTAR motherboards have passed Windows 7 testing, that does not necessarily mean they are compatible with Windows 7 drivers. The motherboards listed below should work with standard Windows 7 drivers.

Drivers for C-Media (Audio).

Windows 7 drivers are available for products that use the C-Media audio chipset.

Many of the drivers for C-Media products have been tested on Windows 7’s RC version. However, they should still work.

Windows 7 drivers can be downloaded for CMI8788+, CMI8768+ and CMI8768+. However, Windows 7’s built in drivers may work better.

These Windows 7 drivers are from C-Media. Although a C-Media chip might be part of your soundcard or motherboard, it is possible that a Windows 7 driver is a better fit for you sound device from the manufacturer of your actual soundcard or motherboard.

Compaq Drivers for Desktops and Laptops

Compaq computers can receive Windows 7 drivers if they are available via HP’s standard support website, linked above. Compaq now belongs to HP.

Compaq’s latest computers usually come with Windows 7 installed. Windows 7 drivers are also available for older Compaq computers. HP may also have Windows 7 drivers available for older Compaq computers.

Creative Sound Blaster Drivers (Audio)

Creative Sound Blaster Windows 7 drivers can be found on Creative’s Driver Availability Table, linked above.

Creative now offers Windows 7 drivers for their Sound Blaster products, including the X-Fi and Sound Blaster Live models, as well as Audigy.

Creative may have beta some Windows 7 drivers. Beta drivers can sometimes not work correctly and you should upgrade as soon as the final versions are available.

This page also contains links to Windows 7 drivers that can be used with other Creative devices, such as MP3 players and speakers, webcams, headsets, video cameras, and webcams.

Drivers for Dell Desktops and Laptops

Windows 7 drivers can be downloaded for Dell laptop and desktop computers via Dell’s support site linked above.

Dell also maintains a list of older computers that have been tested with Windows 7: Microsoft Windows 7 Compatible Dell Systems.

eMachines Drivers for Desktops and Notebooks

All available Windows 7 drivers are available for eMachines notebook and desktop computers.

Check if your eMachines desktop or laptop is compatible with Windows 7. Click the link above to select the Group, then the Series and finally the model number from Products. Your computer should be able to run Windows 7 if “Windows 7” is selected under the Operating System options.

eMachines may not list Windows 7 drivers, but it means that the Windows 7 drivers will be sufficient for your system. You don’t need any drivers updates after you have installed Windows 7.

Gateway Drivers for Desktops and Notebooks

Gateway’s support website offers Windows 7 drivers for many Gateway notebooks and desktops.

Gateway states that their best advice to ensure compatibility with Windows 7 on older computers is to compare the minimum system requirements to Windows 7 to your computer.

Windows 7’s built-in drivers will work with most Gateway hardware made before 2009. Gateway will provide their Windows 7 drivers through their support site.

Drivers for HP (Desktops, Laptops)

You can download all available Windows 7 drivers for HP laptops, desktops, and tablets from HP’s standard support website, linked above.

Many HP laptop and desktop PCs come with Windows 7 drivers.

HP also has valuable information regarding the availability of HP scanner and printer drivers in Windows 7 (see below).

Drivers for HP (Printers and Scanners).

Visit HP Support to obtain Windows 7 drivers for your individual HP scanners and printers.

To find Windows 7 drivers to your HP Deskjet or Officejet, Photosmart LaserJet, LaserJet and Designjet imaging devices, enter your product information at their support page.

This page allows you to check if your HP scanner or printer will work with a Windows 7-based driver, an update from WindowsUpdate or a Windows 7 driver that you have downloaded from HP.

Intel Drivers

Windows 7 drivers can be downloaded from the Intel support page linked above.

Quick checks revealed that Windows 7 drivers are available in 32-bit as well as 64-bit versions. The few pages that I found had Windows 7 drivers for Intel’s integrated audio, video and Ethernet controllers.

Intel also maintains a list of motherboards that fully supports the operating system. This list was created around the release of Windows 7.

Intel Chipset Drivers (Intel Motherboards).

Version 10.1.18383 is the latest Intel Chipset Windows 7 driver (Released 2020-05-17).

These are technically not Windows 7 drivers. This is an INF file upgrade that instructs Windows 7 on how to properly identify and use Intel chipset hardware such as Core PCI and USB.

This update is applicable to both 32-bit as well 64-bit Windows 7 versions.

This page also lists all Intel chipsets that are compatible with the update. This update should not be installed on a motherboard that does not support the listed chipsets.

Lenovo (Desktops and Laptops).

You can download Windows 7 drivers for Lenovo laptop and desktop computers from the Lenovo support site linked above.

Lenovo’s Windows 7 discussion forum can answer specific Windows 7 questions. This forum is great if you need help finding drivers for your Lenovo product, or if you have problems installing a driver.

Lexmark Drivers for Printers

The Lexmark site linked above contains current information about Windows 7 drivers for individual Lexmark printers.

This page will allow you to determine if your Lexmark printer is compatible with either the Windows 7 driver or the Windows Vista driver.

Apart from the ones linked above, there are many Lexmark small-business and home office all in-one and inkjet printing that can be found separately.

Microsoft Drivers (Keyboards, Mice, Etc. )

Microsoft produces hardware such as keyboards, mice and game controllers in addition to operating systems such as Windows 7.

Microsoft hardware products that include Windows 7 drivers can be found on the Software Downloads page linked above.

Beta versions of some Windows 7 drivers for Microsoft hardware might still be available. Beta drivers might not work correctly all the time so you need to update as soon as possible.

Microtek Drivers – Scanners

Windows 7 drivers are available for Microtek scanners for many models. You can download them from the link above.

Windows 7 drivers appear to be available for many newer ScanMaker or ArtixScan models. Only a few ArtixScanDI scanners manufactured by Microtek are compatible with Windows 7 64-bit drivers.

Microtek does not plan to release drivers for their popular older scanners. Microtek claims that many of their Windows XP 32 bit drivers work flawlessly in Windows 7, including popular models such as the ScanMaker 4800 and 4850.

NVIDIA GeForce Driver (Video)

Version 472.12 is the latest NVIDIA GeForce Windows 7 driver (Released 2021-09-20).

This Windows 7 NVIDIA driver works with GeForce 10, GeForce 10, GeForce 900, 700 and 600 series desktop GPUs as well as GeForce 10 MX100, 10, GeForce 800M, 700M and 600M series notebook GPUs.

This driver suite includes NVIDIA 3D Vision and NVIDIA SLI. NVIDIA Surround and NVIDIA Update are also included.

NVIDIA offers Windows 7 64-bit and 32-bit drivers. Make sure you choose the right one for your system.

These NVIDIA GeForce drivers come directly from NVIDIA, the GPU manufacturer. NVIDIA created the NVIDIA GeForce GPU, even though it may be part of your motherboard or video card. It’s possible that a Windows 7 driver is available from the manufacturer of your motherboard or video card.

Realtek AC97 Driver Audio

Version 6305 of the Realtek AC97 Windows 7 driver has been released (Released 2009-09/07).

This Windows 7 driver is available in both 32-bit as well as 64-bit formats.

These Realtek AC97 drivers are direct from Realtek, the chipset manufacturer. Although the AC97 chipset might be part of your motherboard or sound card, Realtek created it. It’s possible that a Windows 7 driver is available from the manufacturer of your sound card or motherboard.

Because of their popularity, I have listed several Realtek drivers individually.

Realtek High Definition Driver Audio

Version R2.82 is the latest Realtek High Definition Windows 7 driver (Released 2017-07-25).

This Windows 7 driver is available in both 32-bit as well 64-bit versions.

These Realtek High Definition audio drivers come directly from Realtek, the chipset manufacturer. Although the High Definition Audio chipset might be part of your motherboard or sound card, Realtek created it. It’s possible that a Windows 7 driver is available from the manufacturer of your sound card or motherboard.

Because of their popularity, I have listed several Realtek drivers individually.

Sony Drivers for Notebooks and Desktops

Sony’s eSupport website, linked above, allows you to download any Windows 7 drivers for your notebook or desktop computers.

Sony offers Upgrade information on Sony PCs and Windows 7. It also includes a tool that allows you to check which Windows 7 drivers are available for your particular Sony computer.

Toshiba Drivers. (Laptops).

Windows 7 drivers are available for Toshiba laptops (now known as Dynabook). They can be downloaded from Toshiba’s standard support website, linked above.

A list of Toshiba Windows 7 drivers can be viewed by entering the model number or serial number on the Toshiba Drivers & Software page. After that, refine your search to Windows 7.

Toshiba has also posted a summary of Windows 7 information on its Community Page.

Toshiba also offers a list of laptops that were released between 2007-2009 and support Windows 7: Toshiba laptop models that are compatible with Windows 7.

VIA Drivers – Chipsets

Windows 7 drivers are available for products that use VIA’s Ethernet and audio chipsets.

Start by choosing Microsoft Windows as Step 1, and then Windows 7 as Step 2.

These Windows 7 drivers are from VIA, a manufacturer of chipsets. Although a VIA chipset might be part of your motherboard, or other hardware, VIA did not create the entire device. It’s possible that a Windows 7 driver is available from the manufacturer of your device.
