How to tell if someone added you back on Snapchat

Snapchat is one the most popular social media-based apps today. Snapchat’s privacy is a huge advantage for many users. Snaps automatically delete and send funny videos to close friends are just a few of the many features that this app offers.

Snapchat allows users to share custom stories with smaller groups or customize who can see them. Snapchat doesn’t give you information about your followers, friends or count of likes. It lets you focus on the social side of things, creating, sharing and commenting without worrying about anything else.

If you are active on social media daily, it is simple to find out if someone added you to Snapchat. It may take some time for you to adjust if your focus is shifting from Facebook and Twitter. It’s nice to see if someone you are following has added you back. Here’s how you can do it.

You can check your added friends

The Add Friends screen is one of the most popular places to look on Snapchat. Although this is the easiest of all the methods we’ll discuss, it won’t show friends you have already added. It will however show friends who have added you. This is how you find the list and locate your new friend prospects.

Open Snapchat by tapping on the person icon in the upper right corner.

  1. Check out the list of Snapchat users who have added your name. For the complete list, tap See More

To add the user again, tap Accept. To the right, you can tap the X icon if the user is not on your friend’s list.

Use the Friends List to identify who adds you back on Snapchat

Although there aren’t any direct methods to see if someone added your name back on Snapchat, you can use your “Friends List” to do so. Here’s how.

  1. Tap the profile icon at the upper left corner of Snapchat.

  2. Scroll down and click on My Friends.

  3. You can now scroll through the list to find your friend. Or, you can use search bar to enter their name. If they have a profile, you’ve been added back to Snapchat.

You do receive a notification when someone adds to you. They expect you to add them back. However, unlike you not receiving a notification that you were accepted, the other person will not receive one when they are added to your account.

Use their Snap Score to identify who adds you back on Snapchat

You will be notified if someone adds to you via Snapchat. However, they won’t notify you if they do. It’s easy to determine if someone has added you back. If someone you add to a public Snapchat, it will appear in your Snap feed. However, you can also see the Snap Score of your friend if they have added your back.

  1. Slide to the left in the Snapchat app to access the Chat interface. Tap on the profile icon at the upper left corner to access the Chat interface. Next, select the friend you wish to view from the list.
  2. To open their profile screen, tap on the Bitmoji or silhouette (for those without Bitmojis).
  3. You can see their Snap score at the top of the page, right next to your friend’s username.
  4. If your Snap Score isn’t listed, it means they haven’t added you yet. Only friends can see each other’s Snap Score.

There is no way to hide Snapchat score. This information is available to anyone who is a friend of yours on Snapchat. If you see your Snapchat Score, you are guaranteed to become friends.

Snapchat Privacy Settings: Identify who adds you back

Some users love Snapchat’s privacy culture, as we have already mentioned. Some users consider adding Snapchat friends a sacred honor, regardless of whether they are only accepting close friends or those they trust the most.

Users who have their account “locked” (for instance, the screenshot below represents someone who only gets messages from friends) can still send a message to see if they receive a reply.

Based on whether they receive a reply from you, they will know if you added them back. They can send messages but they only get replies from their close friends.

You won’t get any reply if they haven’t added you back yet. This is because they didn’t receive the message due to their privacy settings. This is another way to find out if you were added. However, it only works for accounts with adjusted Privacy Settings. Instead of waiting for confirmation, look for the absence of response. This will tell you if they added or removed you.

If they dodge you, it’s likely that they won’t reply to your message. This is even if they haven’t locked their account for privacy. You’ll know if someone is interested in a connection.

Consider these things if you find out that a Snapchat friend has not added your to their Snapchat Friends List.

  • They have stopped using the app. Cancelling a Snapchat account might seem redundant if the person concerned has stopped using it. You can still send them invites but they won’t reply because they don’t have the app or the notifications are disabled.
  • They took a break. These friend requests expire after 24hrs. They won’t be able to receive your request if they don’t have the app.

If someone does not accept your request via Snapchat, you can send them a message through another channel like text or another social networking account. This can help you clarify any miscommunications about your real-life relationships.

We are friends, but I can’t see their Snapchat score

Many users claim that even though they are friends with another user, they can’t see their Snapchat score. This seems to be a common problem. Log out of the app if you are certain that you and another friend are friends. Then log back in. This usually fixes minor bugs.

Your app can be updated via the App Store and Google Play store. You can either type Snapchat in the search bar, or click on the “Updates” option in any one. Tap on “Update” to see if it fixes the problem.

If the person you tried to add does not have a “Pending status”, it is possible that they have already accepted your request to be added back. Before you send a message to them or get upset, log out and then back in again.
