How to Report a Discord Server

How to Report a Discord Server

Discord can be used by gamers who want a free text and VoIP service. It is important to realize that not all server communities will work for the same purpose and that some servers might need to be set up for less than legal reasons.

Users are provided with Community Guidelines that if ignored will result in consequences. Each member of these servers has to make sure that everyone is doing well, even if they are just visiting. Discord provides a means for those who don’t follow the rules (or the law) to report them.

Report a Discord Server

Reporting servers works the same way as reporting individual users and messages. Before Discord’s Trust & Safety Team can investigate the matter, there are a few things you need to do.

The Community Guidelines

Before you report a server, make sure to inspect it thoroughly. This will prevent them from being reported for not following these guidelines.

How to Convert Rows Into Columns

A quick overview of Discord’s unacceptable behavior is

  • Harassment
  • Spam messages
  • Violations of IP rights
  • Pornography for children
  • Promoting suicide or self-harm
  • Distributing viruses
  • Threatening another user
  • Share images of animal cruelty and gore

Make sure the problem is widespread and not limited to a single user. In some cases, it might be possible to not report at all. If the owners or administrators agree with the situation, or are actively involved in it, then reporting the server is justified.

Please contact the moderators if you have any questions. Administrators can speak with, kick, or ban the person responsible, negating the need for an escalated situation.

You also have the option to block or muffle the person who is causing you stress.
