How to make computer speakers louder

Increase the volume of your computer speakers.

Many people are now using their computers as entertainment devices, thanks to the availability of multimedia and gaming apps and computers today. Sound quality is now a top priority for many users. There are several ways to improve the sound quality of your computer speakers. There is a limit to the volume of your speakers, and this depends on their hardware.

Window XP Volume Control

Step 1

Click the button “Start” in the lower left corner of your desktop.

Step 2

Scroll down and click “All Programs.” Scroll down and click on “All Programs.” Click “Accessories” then click “Entertainment.” Click on “Volume Control.”

Step 3

Hold your left mouse button down on the volume control until it moves to the left. Move your mouse upwards until the volume control is higher that it was before.

Windows Vista/7

Step 1

Click the button “Start” in the lower left corner of your desktop. Scroll up to your “Control Panel” and click it. If you’re in Windows 7, click the drop-down beside “View By” to click “Small Icons”. Click “Classic View” if you’re in Vista

Step 2

Click on “Sound” in the Control Panel. Right-click the speakers in this device window. Scroll down and click on “Configure Speakers.”

Step 3

To find out the volume of your speakers, click on the “Test” button. Click the “Next” button. Click the “Next” button.

Step 4

Right-click the speakers again in the device window. Scroll down and click on “Properties”. Click on the “Levels tab.” The slider volume control can be moved to the right. Click the “Enhancements tab” if it is available. Check the boxes below “Disable any enhancements.”

Step 5

Click on the “Apply” and “OK” buttons.

Adjust physical speakers

Step 1

Turn the volume up on your speakers. The knob or side of most speakers has a turnable knob. This control can be moved to increase the volume of your speakers.

Step 2

Make sure you check the connection at the back of your computer. The male single prong connection to your speakers is likely to slide into the hole in your computer tower. You must ensure that the prong is in the hole. This connection can be color coded on the computer using a speaker icon.

Step 3

The listener should face the speakers. It is as simple as it sounds. Move the speaker’s face towards the listener. You can also move the speakers closer towards the user.
