6 Methods to Transfer Photos from iPhone to Mac

1. Use Airdrop

Apple devices are highly productive because they integrate seamlessly with each other. Before you begin, turn on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on the iPhone and Mac.

You can organize and compress your photos, then send them to the Mac via any cloud service. First, you must connect to them and enable them.

 

  1. Open the Files app for your iPhone.
  2. If you’re on a different screen, tap on the Browse Tab.
  3. Tap the ellipsis symbol in the upper right corner.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Toggle and enable third-party services or apps from the list under Locations
  6. Tap Done.

Use the Files App to Send Photos

  1. Choose the photo you wish to transfer from iPhone.
  2. To display the share sheet, tap on the Share icon.
  3. Select Save to.
  4. To save your photos, choose the cloud service and the folder it contains. If you wish, create a new folder. Before you export a photo, you can change its name.
  5. Click on Save.
  6. You can view your video or photo on your Mac from iCloud Drive.

4. Use iCloud Photos

iCloud photos allows you to sync and view all of your photos across any Apple device. Only problem is that you have only 5 GB of free storage, which is shared with all files in iCloud. It’s simple to transfer photos from your iPhone to your Mac with iCloud. Before you start, make sure that all of your devices have iCloud Photos enabled.

  1. Open Settings in your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and click on Photos.
  3. If it’s disabled, toggle the switch for iCloud Photo to green.

5. Use iCloud Photo Stream

Are you confused between iCloud Photos & iCloud Photo Stream This isn’t a common confusion. iCloud Photos lets you store all of your photos and videos in the cloud. iCloud Photos Stream uploads new photos to devices that have iCloudPhoto Stream turned on. It only stores the most recent 30 days of photos, and can store up to 1000 photos. These photos are not counted towards your iCloud storage limit.

iCloud Photo Stream allows you to view only the most recent photos, and then transfer them to your Mac. Alternatively, you can use iCloud Photo Stream to view all of your photos and videos. Other differences are discussed in the Apple Support article.

  1. Open the Settings iPhone app and tap our name at the top.
  2. Go to ICloud > Photos.
  3. Allow My Photo Stream With the toggle switch.

  5. Choose Photos > Preferences > iCloud
  6. To enable My Image Stream, select the checkbox.

 

Photos will sync automatically to your iPhone’s photo stream. If you don’t see this option, go to Photo > Preferences > ICloudfirst.

6. Use Image Capture to Your Mac

The image capture app for macOS can import images from digital cameras or scanners. It can be used to upload videos and photos from any device connected to the Mac, such as an iPhone.

  1. Use the cable to connect the iPhone and Mac, then unlock the iPhone as soon as you are prompted.
  2. Select the device from the Shared or Devices lists in the Image Capture app for Mac.
  3. Select the images that you wish to transfer to your Mac.
  4. The Import to popup menu is located at the bottom. Next, choose where you want to save the images. These images can be used to create a PDF, or a webpage.
  5. Choose Other to transfer images to Photos. Next, select Photos.
